The “Toraya Akasaka Store,” which was temporarily closed for rebuilding from 2015, has been reopened on October 1, 2018 (Saturday). The store, the cafeteria (cafe space), the gallery, and the new store, which is roughly divided into three, are filled with the thought of "I want to make it a cozy shop to be close to customers". Furthermore, it is a must-see for Toraya's first attempt, the open storehouse (manufacturing site) and the resurrected Akasaka Store-limited menu. We will introduce a new form of "Toraya Akasaka Store" that should be focused on now.
We continue to run as the top runner of Japanese confectionery shop always from the Muromachi period

A tiger shop that was founded in Kyoto during the Muromachi period and served as a royal court. In 1878, he served in the capital capital of Tokyo, Emperor of Japan, and advanced to Tokyo. After several relocations, we will open a store in Akasaka. From that point on, in 15018, the "Toraya Akasaka Store", which was originally set up on this fragile land, was reborn in 2018 as a low-rise building that takes advantage of the warmth of trees. A high-rise building should have been built on this site facing the boulevard, but what Toraya chose was to specialize only as a Japanese-style confectionery. It is a store that truly embodies the Toraya's management philosophy of "willingly serving delicious Japanese sweets". The newly renovated "Toraya Akasaka Store" is a symbol of the ever-evolving Toraya, a leader in Japanese confectionery culture. Therefore, this may be the beginning of a new history of Japanese sweets as well as Toraya.
Keep an eye on “Toraya Akasaka Store”! Unveiling the after-renewal figure that incorporates commitments everywhere

“Toraya Akasaka Store” is a Japanese-style confectionery shop that has been filled with innovative attempts. We will introduce the secrets of the new store's commitment and comfort that everyone can feel comfortable in any place.
Beautiful architecture and open space using plenty of Yoshino's kite

The Akasaka Store has been redesigned into a completely new low-rise building with four floors above ground and one basement floor. The store is designed by Mr. Kei Naito, an architect known for his unique architecture that blends in with the environment, such as the Tomitaro Makino Memorial Hall in Kochi. We are also working on the design of Toraya stores that have attracted much attention, such as “Toraya Kobo” and “TORAYA TOKYO”. This Akasaka store was designed based on the concept of "Simplify and make Takamasa". The space finished with plenty of Yoshino's eyebrows blends naturally with the historic Akasaka, and you can feel warmth and warmth.
The drawings actually designed by architect Naito Akira are used for product packaging.
The exterior of the store has also been redesigned into an open space. "In the past, with the desire to have a slow shopping without having to worry about outside eyes, I was in a space where eyes from outside were closed. It was an easy-to-enter appearance, "says Mr. Okuno, a spokesman for Toraya. This “easy-to-enter” and “easy-to-purchase” store creation also looks at the future of Japanese-style confectionery, which Toraya aims for.
The large stairs inside the store are finished in wide and wide steps.
There is no showcase. A sales floor where you can enjoy leisurely shopping

Climb the stairs while looking at the rich greenery of the Akasaka Imperial Land, and when you reach the second floor, the black plaster wall surface will have an eye-catching sales floor. Speaking of a Japanese-style confectionery shop, there is a showcase, and there is an image that a clerk stands in the back, but there is no showcase here. The reason is "I want to feel free to pick it up". Instead of showcases, tables are lined up on the sales floor, and colorful Japanese sweets are placed like jewels on top of that.
A tray is attached near, so that you can buy easily from one as well as box purchase.
Of course, the clerk here proposes a variety of Japanese confectionery, ranging from standard products such as sheep's beak and middle to haute couture. If you are still busy, you can make a reservation at the entrance on the first floor.
Akasaka Store Limited "Senri no Kaze" is back! As two craftsmen make their breath together, there is no one with the same pattern.
In fact, this sales floor is also loaded with the feelings of Toraya. For example, the product table uses a digged table so that wheelchairs can look closer to the candy. The height of the table is also adjusted to match the wheelchair's eyes. In addition, because there are chairs at the end of the store, you can enjoy shopping slowly.
Seasonal exhibition next to the sales floor.
There is a space next to the sales floor where the display changes with each season. At the end of the interview, a zodiac rattan was displayed at the end of the year, which is often given by year-end gifts and new year's cards. In addition, as a suggestion of the fun to give, there is also a method of wrapping the futoni using a limited-time zodiac furoshiki, and an introduction to Akasaka-limited services where you can freely select the water decoration etc according to the other party and the purpose of giving. did. As well as selling Japanese confectionery, it is an attempt unique to Toraya that proposes Japanese confectionery culture.
Mizuhiki is a cute motif with the symbol tiger of Toraya!
A cafeteria where you can enjoy seasonal scenery, sweets and meals

Before rebuilding, the confectionary that was in the basement moved to the third floor where natural light enters. The high ceilings and open spaces let you see the nature of the fort from the windows. Here you can enjoy sweet and savory sweets such as Anmitsu and soup powder, as well as seasonal meals using seasonal ingredients. There is a wide range of seats from semi-private rooms to counter seats and terrace seats, so it can be used according to the application. While enjoying the scenery of each season, it seems that you can feel very luxurious.
Raw sweets are made that morning and line up with the opening.
In addition, there is a shopping area (manufacturing site) on the third floor where you can see how Japanese sweets are made through glass. For the first time, there is an Akasaka store with a courthouse. The raw sweets and baked sweets of Akasaka are made here, in order to make you feel the taste of the new product.
Akasaka store-limited baked sweets "Juzuki" are also made at the play area.
"Toruya Akasaka Gallery" in the basement floor, where Japanese sweets and Japanese culture are presented
The first "Toraya Yotei Design Exhibition" was held.
It's a completely new space Akasaka store and confectionery, but this is not the only one. There is the "Toraya Akasaka Gallery" on the basement floor. Here, exhibitions and events to spread Japanese sweets and Japanese culture are held for a limited time. The "Toraya no Yomito Design Exhibition", which was held for the first time at the time of opening, was about 450 points of Yomitan designs remaining in the sample of the Taisho era.
"Omochi sweets sample bowl" which has been handed down to Toraya since ancient times. (A design book for sweets)
At the center of the gallery is a large pot for making agar. This was actually used until 1992, and the weight of the large scarlet letter called "Emma" shows that it was a considerable effort. In addition, Japanese landmarks related to the design of the yokan, materials of the yokan, and rare white azuki beans were displayed with commentary. A gallery that changes plans every two to three months is full of discoveries and learning. As admission is free, let's visit here together along with shopping.
From January 12 (Saturday) to February 24 (Sun), 2019, the second exhibition "Totowa's Book-Words of Nature" is being held. On display is a book by Tatsuro Furugun who has used the inscriptions of the calligraphy written on the product package of Toraya.
In addition, such a hidden spot! ?

There is a vending machine here at Akasaka. Were you able to find the person who went? No way it's here .... I did not notice at all.
At the time of filming, "Yokan a là carte" was a small assortment of mini-shuts that were even smaller than the small-sized sheep roe. In addition, "Anne paste" of Toraya cafe etc.
The vending machine, a hidden spot of the Akasaka Store, is located between the lobby on the first floor and the entrance to the parking lot. It may be a difficult place to find from the entrance on the Aoyama Street side. Why in such a place? You might think, but today I would like to shop without customer service, I would like to shop without talking to anyone .... It may be said that it is also an unknown name spot (?) For such a person.

How about “Toraya Akasaka Store”, which has been reborn after about three years? The Akasaka Store is recommended as it is easy to enter and you can shop freely even if you are not used to Japanese confectionery stores. Please enjoy the seasonal atmosphere and pleasant time at the "Toraya Akasaka Store".
