From July 28, 2017 (Friday), "Kyoto Daisaku" Snow of Fukagawa "and" Flower of Yoshihara-138 years of dream reunion-"started at the Okada Museum of Art in Hakone.

Among the masterpieces of Kitagawa Kayo's masterpiece "Snowyokeka", "Yoshiwara no Hana" currently held by the Wadsworth Ascenicium Museum of Art in Connecticut, USA, will be reunited with the "Snow of Fukagawa" and the dream of the Okada Museum of Art collection. I will play. The three works were exhibited simultaneously in 1896, 138 years ago. It is the last record that was published at Jogan-ji Temple in Tochigi Prefecture.

The first thing that surprises me when I enter the hall is the sense of size. As for ukiyo-e, "Snow of Fukagawa", which is the largest vertical axis, is 199 cm x 341 cm. It is even more surprising that this size is drawn on only two sheets of paper.

The recommended method of Okada Art Museum director, Kobayashi Tadashi, is to look at the texture and details of the work near you as a way of looking at "Snow-getsuhana". And after that, it's about leaving the work and looking at three works in the distance.

It is two works of "Snow of Fukagawa" and "Flower of Yoshihara" that can be seen at the exhibition this time, but "High-resolution reproduction of full size" is also displayed in "Moon of Shinagawa". You can see and compare

"Snow-moon flower" which still has many mystery

The stage of the trilogy is all about Edo. The 2nd floor of the restaurant of Fukagawa, a stylish geisha town. Shinagawa's travel shop. And, Yubara of Yoshihara conditionally authorized from the Shogunate.

The common feature is that there is no adult male, and that there is no official article, as opposed to the fact that many works are depicted in every work. Since the figure of a man is drawn by the silhouette in "Shinagawa no Mon", it is fun to look for.

Although there are three works in common in this way, there are also many strange points, such as the fact that the sizes are not uniform, that they were drawn at different times, and that they were thought to have been drawn not by Edo but by Tochigi.

It was a local merchant who requested production. ?

In the late 18th century, Ukiyo-e was under strict control as a disturbance to Fuki, due to the reformation of generosity by Gosei and Matsudaira Sadanobu. Edo's print maker Jezaburo Edo, who had a deep relationship with the song, received a heavy punishment for confiscation of half of the property, and the song itself was not a good-looking painting, but an unexpected writing-off by a work interviewed in "Picture Book Taikoki" In the case, I will receive a heavy punishment of hand chain 50 days.

A few years before being imprisoned, it is said that it was the Tochigi merchant, Yoshino Kihei, who relied on him to escape the shogunate's oppression. There is a crazy song name, Keisei Tokushige, and there is a connection with the song with the crazy song name of the brushstroke circle.

Yoshino Yoshino's name often appears in the works of Kayo, and his familiarity can be seen. It is said that Kibei's uncle, Yoshino Ibei, who had such a deep relationship, made "Sukigetsuka" painted on the song during his stay in Tochigi, and the kimono of the three women is the crest of the good family, nine This theory is considered to be influential also from the fact that it is depicted a loneliness.

There are also 3 paintings of Kayo songs!

Kayo, like other Ukiyo-e artists, is also known as a master of painting. There are only about 40 existing numbers. It is a very small impression compared to the amount of ukiyo-e work done. The Okada Museum of Art collects 3 paintings of such a few songs, including "Snow of Fukagawa". From the delicate depiction of each work, it is felt that Kayo was excellent not only in print but also in autograph.

On the left is the "Geikoku", which is beautifully decorated by the radiant geisha. It has been in Cannes, France for a long time, but in recent years it has been a long-awaited return to Japan, and it has become a hot topic. Have you ever been called in a room and appeared in front of a customer? Hold the front of the kimono with your right hand, and hide the left hand on the sleeve.

The "Three Beautiful Figures", which contrasts with the "Geikoku", is a piece of flowers who relax in the still quiet Yoshihara Yuko room before work begins. After writing a letter to a customer, it looks as if you are in a chat, it depicts a daily space that is different from the glitz of "art map" and "Yoshihara flower".

Famous! New work appeared at Okada Museum of Art chocolate!

Okada Museum Chocolate, which is sold at the time of the exhibition, is drawing the most attention at the museum shop of the Okada Museum of Art.

In the past, there were talks of “Kiku-zu screen chocolate” by Koji Ogata, “Peacock moth-figure chocolate” by Wakatsuki Ito, and “Saiko flower-zuku style chocolate” by Yukiya Kamisaka.

This time, with the "Snow of Fukagawa" stored at the Okada Museum of Art as the motif, the set of the largest number of eight grains in the past! The package also has a new design with the image of snow.

The chocolate was produced by Naoki Miura, a chocolatier exclusively for the Okada Museum of Art. At first glance, the flavor is an unexpected taste in chocolate and it has a new taste. The flavor of each material is felt firmly and you can enjoy harmony with chocolate.
