A Peach-Scented Summer: Two Afternoon Teas Blending French Flair and Japanese Aesthetics [Fairmont Tokyo]

On July 1, 2026, Fairmont Tokyo launched a pair of peach-themed afternoon teas at its 35th-floor lobby lounge, Vue Mer. Infused with both French and Japanese artistic sensibilities, the hotel's limited-edition summer offerings extend beyond afternoon tea to include a course-style high tea and desserts have also debuted as part of the summer-only menu, lavishly incorporating peaches. We introduce a refined summer moment to be savoured at Fairmont Tokyo (フェアモント東京).

‘Peach & Champagne Afternoon Tea’ to Savour the Lingering Flavours of Peach and Champagne

At the French afternoon tea, ‘Peach & Champagne Afternoon Tea’ (‘ピーチ&シャンパンアフタヌーンティー’), you can savour the gentle sweetness of peach and the gorgeous, deep flavours of champagne alongside carefully selected ingredients.

For sweets, there is the ‘Peach & Champagne Tart’ (‘桃&シャンパンタルト’), which combines a champagne-scented tart with vanilla cream and fresh peaches. Popping candy that crackles in the mouth adds a playful accent.

The savouries include ‘Foie Gras Peach Melba’, featuring three layers of foie gras mousse and champagne jelly encapsulating peach, and ‘Beef Cheek Terrine’ to which pickled peach adds a refreshing accent.

The sweetness of peach, the aroma of champagne, and the unique French presentation. A magnificent marriage of flavours crafted to celebrate Fairmont Tokyo’s first anniversary.

‘Japanese Afternoon Tea’ Scented with Seasonal Peach and Mellow Japanese Sake

The Japanese-style afternoon tea, ‘Momo no Wa Afternoon Tea’ (‘桃の和アフタヌーンティー’), features savouries supervised by the head chefs of Sushi Migiwa (みぎわ) and Teppanyaki Totsuji (燈辻) taking centre stage. It expresses the delicate sweetness of seasonal peach, along with the mellow aroma and umami of Japanese sake and sakekasu (酒粕 – sake lees), through the unique sensibility of Japanese cuisine.

These include the “Peach Inari Sushi,” featuring sweet fried tofu pockets stuffed with rice and topped with semi-dried peach that hints at the tart flavor of Japanese plum, and the “Bite-Sized Kasuzuke Whitefish and Myoga Rice Ball,” marinated in the sake lees of the premium Japanese sake Migiwa.

With a dish featuring fragrant, caramelised peach wrapped in Japanese Black Wagyu beef, and ‘Sea Bass Kobujime with Japanese Sake Jure’ (‘スズキの昆布締め 日本酒のジュレ’) where the flavour of Japanese sake spreads, the elegant sweetness of peach and Japanese umami resonate together.

‘Momo no Wa Afternoon Tea’

For wagashi (和菓子 – traditional Japanese confectionery), there are also sweets to savour peach with a Japanese touch, such as ‘Peach Kohakuto’ crystal candies, ultra-light ‘White Peach Water-Warabi-mochi,’ and three exclusive styles of dorayaki pancakes.

Refreshing flavours incorporating peach and champagne will also appear in the trolley-service sweets and tea selection, which can be enjoyed in common across both the French and Japanese afternoon teas.

High Tea to Enjoy Alongside Views Shifting from Dusk to Nightscapes

Starting this summer, a high tea to be enjoyed alongside views shifting from dusk to nightscapes will be offered as a course.

Featuring seasonal savouries using peach, small bites, a main dish, and dessert, the lineup pairs beautifully with wine and can also be enjoyed as a light dinner.
