In 2017, the highly acclaimed “Seiite” exhibition has returned to the old art gallery and Kashima Art of Kyobashi! Most of the works on display are just newly collected. There are 12 pairs of works drawn on the theme of each month from January to December.
Wataru Watanabe is an isolated god painter!
Watanabe Shogo who showed his talent mainly in the field of flower and bird painting from the Meiji period to the Taisho period. Introduced at age 16 to Yaku Kikuchi, who specializes in flower and bird paintings. I started to walk the way of the painter. Because he was not a disciple, he did not belong to the stage, his retrospective was not held for a long time, and he was forgotten in Japanese art history. However, the high quality of the work has been re-evaluated, and in recent years it has been attracting attention again.
As well as flower and bird paintings, he exhibited talents in various fields such as portraits, illustrations and sketches.
A series of twelve width pairs of works
The highlight of this exhibition is "Twelve Months", a 12-inch pair of display panels. From January to December, it is very valuable because everything in the twelve-widths on the theme of each month will not be displayed in one hall.
What is drawn on the hanging axis of September during the exhibition is the fifth place (Goisagi) illuminated on the moon and night!

Speaking of co-productions of Wataru Watanabe and Naokawa Sosuke, there are 30 pieces of cloisonne that decorate among flower birds in the Akasaka Guest House. The flowers and birds of the four seasons are delicately expressed, and are said to be the masterpieces of cloisonne.
